In 1988 due to the high demand for custom made sets Cougar USA was receiving from Australia, they decided that they should set-up a club manufacturing base in Australia. The cost savings were large, freight from the USA has always been costly and there was a 15% Government duty on all made up sets. These factors as well as the time savings for customers, made manufacturing in Australia the only way to go.

Cougar Australia have been manufacturing clubs in Australia ever since and in the past 20 years have made over 100,000 custom sets of clubs. With the development of modern club making equipment, Cougar Golf has risen to a higher level of accuracy than ever before, with only a half point tolerance on all weights, lofts and lies.
